PROJECT LOCATION: Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin.
The first part of this studio involved creating a concept for a sculpture that would be placed in any open, public space in Berlin. It was to meld into its context and be interactive in some way. The sculpture took form as an organic, abstract concrete “Spielzeug” which is destined to, much like any part of its surroundings, become painted at the will of the street artist. It is designed to be engaged in play by people of all ages.
A conceptual housing project for Berlin. It's exterior is 'made to weather' through time, its appearance allowed to bear the scars of time, climate, and water. The city of Berlin has a character defined in its changing over time, its capability to rebuild itself but not erase the scars of its past.
